UN/CEFACT: BRS Check Invoice Service Open Finance Use Case

BRS Check Invoice Service Open Finance Use Case
UN/CEFACT’s Check Invoice Service Open Finance Use Case defines a globally interoperable framework for verifying invoice authenticity and financing status in real time. Designed for banks, payment service providers, financial intermediaries, tax authorities and invoice-financing registries, it enables secure exchange of key invoice data to confirm whether an invoice exists, has already been financed, or remains available for funding.
The specification supports faster invoice approval, credit assessment and payment processing while helping reduce duplicate financing, payment fraud and wider credit risk across domestic and international supply chains. By using trusted registries, interoperable APIs and secure data-routing mechanisms, the service strengthens cybersecurity, improves access to working capital for businesses, and supports more efficient open-finance ecosystems.
