BRS Package Tour Reference Data Model Project

UN/CEFACT’s Package Tour Reference Data Model Project defines business requirements for a shared, interoperable approach to managing and marketing cross-border package tours. It supports travel agencies, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), online travel agencies and suppliers in exchanging consistent data across the full tourism journey—from tour design and destination content to pricing, booking, payment, travel and post-trip reconciliation.

Built around the Select–Pay–Reserve–Use–Reconcile (SPRUR) model, the specification helps the tourism sector create more connected, reliable and personalised travel experiences in both B2B and B2C markets. By strengthening collaboration with local destination partners, it enables richer itineraries, real-time information, streamlined supplier coordination, improved service quality and greater support for sustainable, culturally relevant tourism.
